Which images should we optimize?

Here, you can pick which images to optimize. At the moment, we can optimize your product images and the images in your theme files.

However, we’re not able to optimize the images uploaded through the theme customizer at the moment. Shopify has not provided access to these images to apps.

How aggressively should we compress your images?

Here, you can pick how heavily your images should be compressed.

The more aggressive the compression, the more likely you’ll see a change in quality in the final image. However, even with the ‘aggressive’ setting, you may not notice any differences.

More aggressive compression also means smaller file sizes and thus a faster store.

Should we automatically optimize new images?

We can monitor your store for new images and automatically compress them based on your settings. If this isn’t enabled, new images won’t be automatically compressed.
